­MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 28, 1987 <br />r-OLF COURSE EMPLOYMENT - PART TIME* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to employ David Lindstrom and <br />Walter Mills, Jr. as temporary counter helpers at the <br />Orono Golf Course to fill the vacancy created by the <br />resignation of Betty Stevens for the remainder of the <br />the 1987 golfing season at a rate of $4.25 per hour <br />effective September 29, 1987. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />REJECTION OF BIDS - HACRBERRY PARR WELL <br />Councilmember Goetten asked Public Works Coordinator <br />Gerhardson how specifications could be revised to <br />reduce the bid amounts. <br />Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson stated that he will <br />be working with City Engineer Cook on various ways to <br />revise specifications such as elimination of a water <br />fountain, etc. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Goetten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Sime, to reject all bids received on <br />September 25, 1987 and to revise the specifications so <br />as to provide adequate water supply for our needs and to <br />rebid the well installation at Hackberry Park. Motion, <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />`SOLUTIONS OF RECOGNITION* <br />SOLUTION #2260 - MARE THOMTON <br />RESOLUTION #2261 - PETER ACHEY <br />GREG SULLIVAN <br />RANDY O'BRIEN <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded 'by <br />Councilmember Callahan, that the Council adopt <br />Resolutions #2260 and 42261 recognizing Police Officer <br />Mark Thomton and Police Reserves Peter Achey, Greg <br />Sullivan, and Randy O'Brien for their outstanding work. <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S INFORMATION* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to accept City Administrator <br />Bernhardson's Information regarding: Metro Goose Hunt, <br />Forest Arms Purchase Agreement, 3536 Lyric Avenue, 1972 <br />Shadywood Road, 3946 Sixth Avenue North, 2160 Wayzata <br />Boulevard, 200 Hollander Road, 3405 Shoreline Drive, <br />Casco Point Road Right -of -Way, Baker Park Deer Hunting, <br />Highway 12 Task Force, Surveying - County Road 15- Mollys <br />Corner- County Road 51, and Crystal Bay Road Restoration. <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />City Attorney Blatz requested an Executive Session at <br />this time. <br />13 <br />
