MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD AUGUST 24, 1987 <br />11180 CHARLES NADLER CONTINUED <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to table Application #1180 until <br />the applicant /representative can be present. Motion, <br />Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />11182 LISA AND MARTY DIETRICH— BLOCRER <br />458 LINDEN AVENUE <br />VARIANCE <br />RESOLUTION #2250 <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the request for <br />a front setback variance to install a new foundation to <br />the west portion of the existing house. When the house <br />was first built this was a porch but now is part of the <br />primary structure. Applicant is also proposing to <br />extend construction along the front line of the house. <br />A new foundation was installed for the principal <br />structure less than two years ago. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth stated that applicants <br />property consists of three separate lots totaling .77 <br />acre in a 1 acre zone and recommended combination of the <br />-four lots as a condition of approval. <br />After discussion, applicants agreed to this condition. <br />It was moved by.Councilmember Sime, seconded by Mayor <br />Grabek, to adopt Resolution #2250 approving the variance <br />per staff recommendations and subject to combination of <br />the four lots. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />Lisa Blocker asked what right the City had to come onto <br />their property without their presence or consent and dig <br />footing holes? She stated that they are trying to <br />adhere to the City's procedures, yet the City abuses <br />their property in this way. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth stated that she was not <br />aware that this occurred until after the fact. She <br />noted that there was some question whether the City had <br />approved the previous footings. She stated that staff <br />dug approximately one foot down around one of the <br />existing footings. <br />Marty Blocker stated that he showed Councilmember <br />Peterson the new footings under the existing house and <br />also showed her the two footing holes dug around his <br />house, noting that the City did. not even have the <br />respect to re -fill the holes. <br />Councilmembers Peterson and Goetten confirmed seeing the <br />footing holes dug by staff. <br />Marty Blocker also noted that a new foundation was <br />approved to be installed under the existing house in <br />5 <br />
