MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JULY 27, 1987 <br />ADDITIONAL DEPOSITORY* <br />RESOLOTION 12238 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Goetten, to adopt Resolution #2238 making <br />additional depository appointment for 1987. Motion, <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S INFORMATION* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Goetten, to accept City Administrator <br />Bernhardson's Information regarding: Traffic Control - <br />Willow Drive /Hwy. 12, 200 Hollander Road, 3946 Sixth <br />Avenue North, 4625 Tonkaview, MWCC Meeting, French <br />Creek -Berm, Lake Minnetonka Lake Level, and MWCD Storm <br />Water Management Plan. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />City Attorney Blatz reported that she will be submitting <br />a brief summary regarding a recent Supreme Court <br />opinion. <br />STORM DAMAGE - JULY 23RD THRU JULY 26TH <br />City Administrator Berhardson submitted a memo regarding <br />the storm damage which occurred on July 23rd and July <br />26th. Attached to memo was a map indicating areas of <br />damage noting that the most substantial damage in the <br />community was along the steeper lakeshore banks where <br />the intense rains resulted in parts of the lakeshore <br />banks sloughing off into the lake. It was noted that <br />the list of damage was incomplete. He noted the <br />outstanding job done by the Police Dept, and Public <br />Works Department during and after the major storm on <br />July 23rd. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson noted that staff will be <br />video taping the shoreline to compare with a video <br />taping done by the City Assessor about a year ago. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson noted that the lake level <br />rose approximately 12 inches from these storms and <br />according to Jim Mahady, the lake level is only one - <br />tenth of a foot low from the water going over the <br />control structure at Grays Bay Dam. <br />STORM DAMAGE - RESTORATION WORK <br />City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed staff's <br />proposed temporary policy for work restoration <br />from storm damage. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Pete--son, that the Council adopt the <br />staff policy for restoration work as an ordinance <br />amendment for declared emergency to restore existing <br />land. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />14 <br />
