MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 23, 1987 <br />PUBLIC INFORMATION /MARKETING CONTINUED <br />Councilmember Sime feels that the public is not getting <br />informed through the newspaper(s). He feels a <br />newsletter is necessary and could be done with little <br />expense. <br />Councilmember Goetten felt the newspaper option should <br />be used first. <br />Mayor Grabek suggested that he draft the initial issues <br />of importance with Council review prior to printing on a <br />monthly basis. <br />HENNEPIN CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />LEGISLATION PACKAGE <br />City Administrator submitted the proposed Hennepin <br />Conservation District Legislation for Council review and <br />comments. <br />Councilmember Goetten asked if the Freshwater Biological <br />Institute has been informed. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth stated that the FWBI has <br />been informed. <br />PARKING RESTRICTION <br />MOLLY'S CORNER <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained a request was <br />received to eliminate parking in the vicinity of Molly's <br />Corner. After a review of the issues related to the <br />possible closing, staff recommends that no closing be <br />undertaken at this time, but look to see if the issues <br />of safety can be addressed. Additionally, it is <br />recommended that issues regarding the Tanager Bridge be <br />directed by the residents to Dakota Rail. <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by Councilmember <br />Peterson, for the Council to accept the letter from the <br />residents and that Council has deemed that apart from <br />addressing the safety concerns that no further action be <br />taken at this time. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />MARCH COUNCIL SCHEDULE <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained that due to <br />scheduling conflicts in March with Councilmembers being <br />out of town, it is recommended that the regularly <br />scheduled meeting dates be changed to Tuesday, March 17 <br />and Monday, March 30, 1987. <br />Mayor Grabek stated he has a conflict with the regular <br />schedule dates. <br />15 <br />
