MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 23, 1987 <br />200 HOLLANDER ROAD CONTINUED <br />meeting. After he is served papers, there is still the <br />opportunity for his to respond to this action before the <br />Council with his attorney present. <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by Councilmember <br />Sime, to adopt the following resolutions which address <br />the commencement of hazardous building proceedings <br />together with the securing of the barns at 200 Hollander <br />Road: <br />Resolution #2140 - South side barn <br />Resolution #2141 - Garage <br />Resolution #2142 - North side barn <br />It was noted that this is the initiation of the action, <br />and serving of this action has not yet taken place. <br />Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Councilmember Goetten asked about the status of the <br />house on this property because it is not included in <br />this hazardous building proceedings. <br />Mr. Hollander stated that his house has recently been <br />updated, inspected, and found to be in conformance. He <br />also requested clarification regarding the list of <br />inspection revealings. <br />Brian Hill, 235 Hollander Road, asked what action was <br />being taken to clean up the area i.e. junk cars, <br />garbage. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained that a general <br />area inspection was done on the property and general <br />clean up recommendations were made, however no action <br />has been taken. <br />Mayor Grabek stated that at prior meetings, it was <br />insinuated by the neighbors that the City was remiss in <br />not addressing this situation when the original <br />developement was put in. He questioned this <br />insinuation and directed staff to research. <br />HAZARDOUS BUILDING PROCEEDINGS <br />3960 SIXTH AVENUE NORTH <br />RESOLUTION #2143 <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the proposed <br />commencement of hazardous building proceedings against <br />the house at 3960 Sixth Avenue North which was <br />substantially damaged by fire on September 24, 1986. <br />No progress has been made on the stucture since the day <br />of the fire. 'Given the substantial nature of the <br />deterioration of the building and hazards that it poses, <br />the City recommends that hazardous building <br />proceedings be initiated by Council. <br />10 <br />
