The pians inciude constructing a <br /> multi-unit building and parking lot, along with associated grading and utilities. We have the following <br /> comments with regards to engineering matters: <br /> Gradin4/DrainaQe/Wetlands/Erosion Control . <br /> • Engineered design and details should be provided for the proposed retaining wail as it is over 4 � <br /> feet in height. <br /> • Plans should be submitted to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District for review and approvai. <br /> • See the attached Memo from Jesse Carlson dated 2-9-11 regarding stormwater. <br /> Conservation Desiqn <br /> • The review of the conservation design documents are on-going and wiil be a topic discussed at <br /> the 2-10-11 meeting. These review comments wiil be included under separate cover or with the <br /> next review submittal. <br /> Utilities <br /> • All utility crossings should be identified and insulation should be used when vertical separation is <br /> less than two feet. <br /> • It appears that the forcemain and watermain radii shown may be too small for directional drilling. <br /> ' Bends will likely be needed and are to be shown on the plan. These utilities must be located <br /> within easements. <br /> Lift Station <br /> • The assumptions made for the submitted lift station need to be revised. The site forcemain <br /> connects to a city forcemain. This forcemain is a 4" HDPE DR 11 pipe that is approximately 1760' <br /> from the discharge manhole. The elevation of the forcemain ranges from approximately 957 to <br /> 951 at the discharge manhole. Please resubmit these lift station performance details with the <br /> updated design parameters above: pump capacity, pump curve, the system curve, force main <br /> flow velocity, and planned flow and pumping information in gallons per minute. <br /> • City forcemain record plans are attached for design aid. <br /> • The lift station design goal would be to provide a flexible system that can adjust to low initial <br /> flows and ensure that the sewage does not turn septic before pumping. <br />
