MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD AUGUST 11, 1986 <br />#1015 ERVIN F. KAMM* <br />755/763 NORTH FERNDALE <br />REVISION TO DRAINAGE & UTILITY EASEMENT <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Adams, to approve the revised drainage and <br />utility easement location for the plat of Lydiard Hills. <br />Motion, Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT: <br />BID AWARD - 1986 SEAL COATING <br />City Engineer Cook stated that the low bidder for the <br />seal coating was Allied Blacktop $81,480.; second low <br />bidder was Buffalo Bituminous $88,900.; and third low <br />bidder was Bituminous Roadways, Inc $101,710. He stated <br />that Allied Blacktop was very competent. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by Mayor <br />Butler, to accept the bid from Allied Blacktop in the <br />amount of $81.480 and award them the job. Motion, Ayes <br />4, nays 0. <br />Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson stated due to the <br />unused monies for sealcoating from last year and this <br />year, he would like authorization to add the quantities. <br />of roads to be blacktop not to exceed the budgeted <br />amount of 140,000. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by Mayor <br />Butler, to authorize the sealcoating of additional roads <br />not to exceed the budgeted amount. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays <br />0. <br />NAVARRE INTERCEPTOR REPORT <br />City Engineer Cook reviewed the the four alternatives <br />for improvements from the Metropolitan Waste Control <br />Commission. MWCC has selected Alternate #3 as the <br />preferred construction alignment. <br />Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson and City Engineer <br />Cook recommend Alternate #3A as the preferred <br />construction alignment because it eliminates a main lift <br />station #10 which can be very costly in repairs in the <br />long term. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Callahan, to approve Alternate #3A as <br />recommended by staff, provided the City does not have to <br />contribute payment for the improvement. If the City has <br />to pay in the improvement, this matter will be brought <br />back to the Council for review. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />13 <br />
