MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 24, 1986 <br />WOLSFELD WOODS continued <br />Councilmember Grabek stated that the people involved <br />should appear before the Council with the information <br />needed for their case and that the City should not spend <br />a lot of time and money on this. <br />Acting Mayor Adams agreed that staff should not spend <br />too much time on this. <br />CABLE TV REPORT: <br />MEETING OF FEBRUARY 18, 1986 <br />Acting Mayor Adams stated that he attended the last <br />meeting and was put on the nominating committee. He <br />noted that they are considering a public information <br />program where a moderator would report information <br />provided by the area City Administrators. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENT <br />It was moved by Acting Mayor Adams, seconded by <br />Councilmember Frahm, to appoint Maureen Bellows as the <br />new Planning Commission member. Motion, Ayes 2, Nays 0, <br />Councilmember Grabek abstained. <br />LIGHT BAR PURCHASE* <br />City Attorney Blatz noted that it is questionable <br />whether the motion passes because of the abstention and <br />lack of a quorum. <br />Based on City Attorney Blatz's opinion, City <br />Administrator Bernhardson stated that this would be <br />brought back to the March 10th Council meeting. He also <br />noted that he strongly encourages Council to consider <br />the alternate(s) possibility. <br />Acting Mayor Adams stated that it was Councils' general <br />feeling that there would be problems with alternates. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Grabek, that the Council approve the <br />Police Department purchase of light bar, siren and <br />speakers in the amount of $799.95. Motion, Ayes 3, Nays <br />0. <br />WATER SUPPLY RATING* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Grabek, to commend the Utility Department <br />and Public Works Coordinator, John Gerhardson for their <br />excellent efforts in improving the water supply "rating <br />for the community. Motion, Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />0 <br />
