MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 13, 1986 <br />#945 R.J. BAUMAN <br />1040 TONRAWA ROAD <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />RESOLUTION #1901 <br />#987 R.J. BAUMAN <br />1040 TONRAWA ROAD <br />VARIANCE <br />RESOLUTION <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the request for <br />a conditional use permit for grubbing /replanting & <br />landscape work on lakeshore bank. <br />Mr.. & Mrs. Robert J. Bauman were present for this <br />matter. Mr. Bauman stated he reviewed staff's memo and <br />had no problem with it. <br />Councilmember Frahm stated that he felt the drafted <br />resolution should incorporate City Engineer Cook's <br />comments as listed in staff's memo. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Frahm, seconded by <br />Councilmember Hammerel, to adopt Resolution #1901 <br />incorporating City Engineer Cook's comments. Motion, <br />Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />Mr. & Mrs. Robert J. Bauman were present for this <br />matter. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the request for <br />average lakeshore setbacks and hardcover variances to <br />construct an enclosed swimming pool. He noted that the <br />applicant is willing to trade -off existing hardcover in <br />the 75 -250' to remain at 39.4% hardcover which is still <br />in excess of the allowed hardcover. <br />Assistant Zoning Administrator Gaffron noted that at.the <br />Planning Commission meeting, both adjacent neighbors, <br />(Noelting, 1060 Tonkawa and Gasch, 1030 Tonkawa) <br />expressed concern of encroachment, however Planning <br />Commission felt that any encroachment would be minimal. <br />Planning Commission member Goetten stated that although <br />she was the minority on the Planning Commission, she <br />felt there was no hardship involved and that there would <br />be a view encroachment problem. <br />Acting Mayor Adams stated that he thought there would be <br />a sight problem from the property to the north. <br />Councilmember Hammerel felt that the sight problem would <br />be very minimal. <br />4 <br />
