ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 13, 1999 <br />ROLL CALL <br />The Council met on the above - mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Gabriel Jabbour, Council Members Richard Flint, Bob Sansevere, Charles Kelley, and Barbara <br />Peterson. Representing Staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, Public Services Director <br />Greg Gappa, City Attorney Tom Barrett, Senior Planning Coordinator Michael Gaffron, City <br />Engineer Tom Kellogg, Zoning Administrator/Planner Paul Weinberger and Recorder Lanette <br />Wolf. Mayor Jabbour called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />( #1) APPROVE /AMEND <br />Items 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, and 27 were added to the Consent Agenda. Item 4 <br />was removed from the Consent Agenda. <br />Peterson moved, Kelley seconded, a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as <br />amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />INTRODUCTION OF NEW FULL -TIME POLICE OFFICERS <br />Chief Cheswick introduced the new full -time police officers, Jeff Johnson and Tony Wittke, to <br />• the Mayor and Council Members. <br />PRESENTATION OF PLAQUE BY IRENE SILBER <br />Ms. Silber introduced Gary Welsh of the Saga Hill Preservation Society. <br />Mr. Welsh presented a plaque to Mayor Jabbour from the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota <br />recognizing the efforts of those preserving a substantial amount of land in the Saga Hill area <br />as park land. <br />( #2) 2000 LEVY ADOPTION HEARING - ADOPTION OF 2000 BUDGET AND <br />TAX LEVY <br />A. ADOPT FINAL 1999 TAX LEVY COLLECTIBLE IN 2000 - RESOLUTION <br />NO. 4396 <br />B. ADOPT 2000 GENERAL FUND BUDGET - RESOLUTION NO. 4397 <br />C. ADOPT THE 2000 SPECIAL REVENUE FUNDS BUDGETS - RESOLUTION <br />NO. 4398 <br />Moorse said this is a request for the Council to take final action on the Year 2000 budget and <br />tax levy. He said that in August the Council went through a series of work sessions to develop <br />the budget, they adopted the preliminary levy and budget in September and that tax levy was <br />Page 1 <br />
