9 <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR JULY 26, 1999 <br />( #2492 Rick and Gail Luzaich, Continued) <br />recommendations of the City's forester have been complied with. <br />Luzaich remarked that he would be willing to move some of the proposed trees away from the <br />property line closer to the middle to create the canopy cover. <br />Mayor Jabbour recommended that the Applicant move a few trees to the middle. <br />Kelley stated the Applicant will need to appear before the City Council to get the language <br />approved regarding access. <br />Mayor Jabbour commented the neighbors will also need to be notified regarding this <br />application. <br />Luzaich stated he will have his landscape architect submit a revised plan to the City's forester <br />and City Staff for their review. <br />Sansevere moved, Peterson seconded, to table Application #2492, 2490 Old Beach <br />Road. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(Recess taken at 9:20 p.m. - 9:27 p.m.) <br />( 0) #2502 ORONO SELF SERVE, 2160 WAYZATA BOULEVARD - VARIANCE <br />AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - RESOLUTION NO. 4323 <br />Bill Wear, Applicant, was present, along with John Zadurski, Griffin Petroleum Representative. <br />Kelley commented that the existing Highway 12 corridor will eventually become the downtown <br />Orono corridor upon completion of the new Highway 12, and that a design review <br />committee should have been established to review the architecture and design along <br />Highway .12 in order to provide some uniformity as to what is being constructed in that area. <br />Kelley stated that he has reservations and concerns regarding the lighting at the <br />new Super America store. Kelley commented that he does not have a clear understanding of <br />the type of lighting that is being proposed with this canopy. <br />Mayor Jabbour inquired what color the canopy will be. <br />Wear stated it will be a tan canopy with a red stripe around it. The lighting will be recessed <br />• and directed down. <br />11 <br />
