PLANNING COMMISSION CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR APPOINTMENTS <br />Curtis indicated she has spoken with all of the planning commissioners and that Loren Schoenzeit, Jon <br />Schwingler, Linda Feuss and Denise Leskinen have all indicated they are interested in either position. <br />Curtis noted a corrected attendance record for each commissioner has been provided to the City Council. <br />Rahn recommended Loren Schoenzeit for planning commission chair. <br />Bremer stated in her view Loren Schoenzeit has some past experience chairing the meetings and would do <br />• a good job. <br />Ralph Kempf commented that while he was on the Planning Commission Loren Schoenzeit was an <br />enthusiastic commissioner, did a good job, and would be willing to invest the time needed. <br />Rahn recommended Denise Leskinen be appointed as vice chair. Rahn noted she has a good attendance <br />record. Rahn commented that all of the commissioners do a good job. <br />Rahn moved, Franchot seconded, to appoint Loren Schoenzeit as Planning Commission chair and <br />Denise Leskinen as Planning Commission vice chair, effective April 1, 2011. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />7. OLD CRYSTAL BAY ROAD RECONSTRUCTION <br />Kellogg reported that he spoke with the police and fire chiefs regarding the landscaped median plans and <br />neither expressed any concerns. <br />Kellogg stated the City has data for annual irrigation costs for the dental office in the northeast quadrant <br />of OCBR and CSAH 112 as well as for the senior housing complex at the intersection of Brown Road and <br />CSAH 112. Based on that data, the estimated water costs for the median irrigation system would be <br />between $500 and $900 annually during the initial 3 -year establishment period. It is expected this cost to <br />• be reduced significantly after the first three years based on the type of plantings proposed. The plantings <br />selected for the median are drought resistant and salt tolerant. <br />Page 7 of 24 <br />
