MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, March 13, 2006 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />(MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT, Continued) <br />Murphy stated he has a concern with letting people that are not on the council setting the policy of the city <br />and that in his view there is nothing wrong with asking for higher standards. <br />McMillan stated a meeting regarding the open hauling garbage collection system has been scheduled for <br />next week with the Hennepin County Environmental Services and the Cities of Minnetonka and <br />Plymouth. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />.*10. McCULLEY ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT— AUTHORIZE THE PREPARATION <br />OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for <br />the McCulley Road improvement project. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />*11. PLANNING COMMISSION REAPPOINTMENT <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve the reappointment of David Rahn to an additional <br />three -year term on the Planning Commission, expiring on March 31, 2009, and authorizing the <br />advertisement for Planning Commission candidates. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*12. AUTHORIZE SUBMITTAL OF DNR GRANT APPLICATION —RESOLUTION NO. <br />5438 <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5438, a Resolution Authorizing <br />the Submittal of a Grant Application under the DNR Outdoor Recreation Grant Program. <br />VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Murphy inquired what the situation with Mr. Floyd is. <br />Brokl stated he would be receiving a letter from him this week and that the county would be writing him a <br />letter also. <br />PAGE 26 of 27 <br />c: <br />• <br />
