MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, January 23, 2006 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. . <br />(MAY6RICITY COUNCIL REPORT, Continued) <br />Murphy recommended to Moorse that each City representative, be it the Council, staff, or <br />Commissions be kept in the loop of ongoing communication. <br />Mayor Peterson stated that she and Murphy had attended Excelsior Fire Chief Mark DuCharme's <br />going away party to say good -bye and thank him for his service. She suggested that the City put a <br />Resolution together acknowledging his contributions to present to him at an upcoming meeting. <br />PUBLIC SERVICE DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br />*10. APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR 2006 PARK MOWING SERVICES <br />White moved, Murphy seconded, accepting the quotation from Meyers Outdoor Services, <br />Delano, Minnesota for the 2006 season. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />11. ACCEPT FEASIBILITY STUDY AND SCHEDULE PUBLIC HEARING <br />JAMESTOWN ROAD SEWER — RESOLUTION NO. 5418 <br />Gappa stated that the City hosted a neighborhood meeting which generated substantial support for <br />the project. Though the initially estimated costs were less than those currently being proposed, <br />Gappa stated that the public hearing process will reflect an assessment of $9,700 per unit. <br />Sansevere moved, White seconded, adopting RESOLUTION NO. 5418, a Resolution • <br />accepting the Feasibility Study and scheduling a Public Hearing for the Jamestown Road <br />sanitary sewer project. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*12. PURCHASE RADIO READ WATER METERS AND SUMP PUMP INSPECTIONS <br />White moved, Murphy seconded, to authorize Public Works staff to bring a Sump Pump <br />Inspection and Water Meter Replacement Program for the Lift Station 7 and 8 service areas <br />and to approve the purchase of 140 Badger Radio Read Water Meters, from Hydro Metering <br />Technologies, Burnsville, Minnesota at a cost of $27,000 to be funded from the Water Fund <br />with a budget adjustment approved to reflect this expenditure. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />*13. 2006 CONSULTANT ENGINEER RATE SCHEDULE <br />White moved, Murphy seconded, approving the 2006 Consultant Engineer Rate Schedule. <br />VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*14. TUITION REIMBURSEMENT POLICY <br />White moved, Murphy seconded, to approve the adoption of the tuition reimbursement <br />policy.
