MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, November 14, 2005 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />* #10. APPROVE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY AT 1180 LYMAN AVENUE <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to authorize the acquisition of the property at 1180 Lyman <br />Avenue from MN/DOT at a cost of $10,000, and to approve a budget adjustment in the General <br />Fund to reflect the expenditure. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />* #11. RESIGNATION OF PART -TIME POLICE OFFICER— CHRIS PHARO <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve the resignation of part-time Police Officer <br />Christopher Pharo, effective November 14, 2005. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />* #12. AUTHORIZATION TO SELL FORFEITED VEHICLE <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve the liquidation of a surplus 1992Chrysler <br />van with the vin number of 1C4GK54R7NX232172 through Minneapolis Auto Auction. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. • <br />* #13. THREE RIVERS PARK DISTRICT APPLICATION FOR LIMITED FIREARMS USE <br />PERMIT — FOR DEER HUNT IN BAKER PARK <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve the Three Rivers Park District request for a <br />limited firearms use permit to enable a managed, two -day, shotgun deer hunt in Baker Park on <br />November 26 and 27, with the following conditions: One, use of short-range firearms only <br />(shotguns, muzzle - loaders); two, notification of abutting property owners by letter 7 -10 days in <br />advance of the proposed hunt; three, posting of appropriate signage around the park boundaries to <br />prevent unauthorized access during the hunt. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />#14. LETTER OF RECOGNITION TO WAYZATA MARINE <br />McMillan expressed her appreciation to Wayzata Marine for storing the water circulating pumps over the <br />winter. <br />McMillan moved, White seconded, to authorize a letter to be sent to Wayzata Marine in recognition <br />of its generosity and spirit of cooperation in volunteering to store the Stubbs Bay water quality <br />equipment over the winter.
