To do so, the project's objectives must be officially <br /> : incorporated into adopted city policy, and be implemented through the adoption and <br /> enforcement of appropriate ordinances. <br /> Implementation Workshop, Februarv 24, 2005: The consultants met with City <br /> Administrator Ron Moorse and Planning Director Mike Gaffron to discuss alternative; • <br /> ways to implement the study. The ways in which these approaches would affect the city's <br /> plans and ordinances were reviewed and evaluated. <br /> From Phase III it was determined that the first step in implementing the approach used in <br /> � the Rural Oasis Project was to develop an amendment to the city's comprehensive plan. <br /> This CPA promotes the process of the Rura1 Oasis Project by applying it to future <br /> development in the City of Orono. <br /> Goals and Guiding Principles <br /> Maintaining the rural character and environmental health valued by Orono residents <br /> requires the establishment of goals and guidelines and the enforcement of procedures and <br /> standards that will reinforce existing community ideology and incorporate newer methods <br /> introduced by the Rural Oasis Project.
