Kroeger stated in his opinion the City would not have anything to <br /> � lose by tabling fihis application. � <br /> � Zullo stated she would also Ue in support of giving the applicants tiine to bring in additional infoi-�nation <br /> and would be in favor of taUling the rezoning application. <br /> Ralui stated he would prefer to move this application forward to the City Council since they are the ones <br /> who would be making the final decision on the type of use for this site and that the Council could elect to <br /> table the rezoning.Ralui stated if this property is rezoned back to B-6, the City would still have the ability <br /> to make changes or request certain items with whatever application comes Uefore them. � <br /> Gaffron stated the Planning Commission at.some point in time should inake a recorrunendation on <br /> reguiding this property as well as possibly rezoning the site. Gaffron�ointed oufi fihe Metropolitan <br /> Council has reconnnended that the guiding and zoning for specific properties match one another. <br /> � Kroeger inquired how Staff feels about the rezoning. <br /> Gaffron stated the Comprehensive Plan was changed in 2004 in reaction to a proposal that the City . <br /> . Council liked but that the City Council has undergone a change in its philosophy in the past year or two <br /> and that they would like to review the 1998 resolution and possiUly not allow any fiirther retail in this area • <br /> in order to help the retail currently in the City of Long Lake become more viable. <br /> ' Rahn stated in his opinion it would be Uetter for the Couiicil to weigh in on this niatter prior to the parties • <br /> incurring additional costs. • � <br /> Kempf stated if this matter were tabled,the�arties would have the opportunity to suUmit an application. <br /> Gaffron stated if the P1aiuling Conunission tables this a�plication, it would afford the parties some time to <br /> suUmit au application. <br /> ICroeger stated if the rezonin�for this site were a�proved, it would revert back to ihe original zoning. <br /> Kroeger stated ihe City should not be changing ihe zoning on this site every time a different application <br /> a�pears Uefore the City and that careful consideration should be given to what is Ueing proposed for this <br /> site.
