A variance is also required <br /> due to the size of tlle sign proposed. <br /> Curtis recommended the Planning Coirunission discuss the issues outlined in her plamier's report. <br /> Plannin�Staff recoiiunends approval of the conditional use permit and variance subj ect to the <br /> recoirunendations of the City Engineer and the sign Ueing reduced by six inches to meet the City's <br /> monument sign ordinance. <br /> Wheelock noted the church experienced a fire approxiinately four years ago and that tlley have Ueen <br /> involved in the�rocess since then to reconsh uct fihe churcli. <br /> Aberg stated they are in agreement with the recommendations regarding the landscaping and the <br /> reconimendations of the City Engineer. AUerg stated they would like to extend the�11 froin the right-of- <br /> way to the einbankment to llelp diminish tl�e drop-off and address access issues.
