MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MONDAY, JULY 19, 2004 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> ROLL <br /> The Commission met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: Chair David <br /> Rahn; Commissioners Jim Leslie, Cynthia Bremer, Ralph Kempf, Roland Jurgens III, J. Marc Fritzler <br /> and Alternate Janice Berg; City Council Liaison Bob Sansevere; Representing staff were Planner <br /> Melanie Curtis, Planner Janice Gundlach and Recorder Glenda D. Spiotta. <br /> Chair David Rahn called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. <br /> *CONSENT <br /> Chair Rahn recommended adding Item#12, Application#04-3038, Darrell and Karin Anderson and <br /> Bruce Dayton, 900/925/965 Old Long Lake Road, Subdivision to the Consent Agenda. Chair Rahn <br /> indicated there was a consensus to add Application#04-3038 to the Consent Agenda. <br /> *1. 04-3032 CHARLES AND ROSEANNE SIMPSON,2695 KELLY AVENUE, VARIANCE, <br /> PUBLIC HEARING (6:01-6:04 p.m.) <br /> Charles Simpson, applicant, was present. <br /> Chair Rahn asked for public comments. There were none. <br /> Rahn moved,Fritzler seconded,to recommend approval of Application #04-3032, Charles and <br /> Roseanne Simpson, 2695 Kelly Avenue, granting the following variances in order to construct a <br /> new residence on an existing lot: <br /> 1. Lot area variance to permit construction of a new residence on a lot that is 0.61 acres in <br /> area when 1.0 acres is normally required. <br /> 2. Lot width variance to permit construction of a new residence on a lot that is 67.5 feet in <br /> width at the shoreline and 107.5 feet in width at the 75 foot setback when 140 feet is <br /> normally required; <br /> and, stipulating implementation of the recommendations of the City Engineer letter dated <br /> July 6,2004. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br /> *2. #04-3034 ROBERT P. MACK, 1580 SIXTH AVENUE NORTH, CONDITIONAL USE <br /> PERMIT, PUBLIC HEARING (6:01-6:04 p.m.) <br /> Curtis advised that applicant, Robert P. Mack, 1580 Sixth Avenue North, requested Application <br /> #04-3034, for a Conditional Use Permit be removed from the Consent Agenda and tabled pending <br /> further engineering work. <br /> Chair Rahn asked for public comments regarding tabling of Application#04-3034. There were none. <br /> Rahn moved,Fritzler seconded,to table Application#04-3034, Robert P. Mack, 1580 Sixth <br /> Avenue North, Conditional Use Permit. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> Page 1 of 13 <br />
