MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Tuesday, January 20, 2004 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> ROLL <br /> The Commission met on the above mentioned date with the following members present:, <br /> Acting Chair Jeanne Mabusth; Commissioners Cynthia Bremer, David Rahn, J. Mark <br /> Fritzler, Liz Hawn, and Alternate Jules Hannaford; City Council liaison Lili McMillan; <br /> Representing staff were Planning Director Mike Gaffron, Planners Melanie Curtis and <br /> Janice Gundlach, and Recorder Kristi Anderson. <br /> Chair Sandra Smith and Commissioner Stephanie Zugschwert were absent. <br /> Acting Chair Mabusth called the meeting to order at 6:02 P.M. <br /> While Item #17 was added to the Consent Agenda, Item #1 was removed for further <br /> clarification. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> *(#2)#04-2975 REVEREND LOREN D. DAVIS ON BEHALF OF THE GOOD <br /> SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH,3745 SHORELINE DRIVE, CONDITIONAL <br /> USE PERMIT AMENDMENT <br /> Hawn moved,Acting Chair Mabusth seconded,to recommend approval of <br /> Application#04-2975,Reverend Loren D. Davis on behalf of the Good Shepherd <br /> Lutheran Church,3745 Shoreline Drive, granting a Conditional Use Permit <br /> Amendment in order to change the roof structure from flat to pitched on the existing <br /> classroom portion of the church.VOTE: Ayes 6,Nays 0. <br /> *(#3)#04-2980 ORFIELD DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION INC. ON BEHALF OF <br /> MARILYN MCCLASKEY,2693 KELLY AVENUE,VARIANCE <br /> Hawn moved,Acting Chair Mabusth seconded,to recommend approval of <br /> Application#04-2980 Orfield Design and Construction Inc. on behalf of Marilyn <br /> McClaskey, 2693 Kelly Avenue, granting a front yard setback variance in order to <br /> add a 2nd story addition on the existing home 20' from the front property line where <br /> 35' is required.VOTE: Ayes 6,nays 0. <br /> *(#17) #04-2979 DR. DONALD RISTAD AND KENT CASSIDY, 1005 OLD LONG <br /> LAKE ROAD,VARIANCES AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br /> Hawn moved,Acting Chair Mabusth seconded,to recommend approval of <br /> Application#04-2979,Dr. Donald Ristad and Kent Cassidy, 1005 Old Long Lake <br /> Road, granting a lot area variance, conditional use permit to allow the pool to remain <br /> on a through lot, and a variance to allow the existing pool to be setback 28' from <br /> Highway 12 when 50' is required as the pool has existed since 1978, no complaints <br /> PAGE 1 of 53 <br />
