ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR JANUARY 8, 2001 <br />• <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS —A�NI DREW MCDERMOTT, <br />REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. McDermott stated that the Park Commission was looking at the Lurton property <br />donation and some surrounding properties that Mn/DOT is taking. They would like the <br />Council to consider the property at the northeast corner of Highway 12 and County Road 6 <br />that would be acquired by Mn/DOT for the new interchange. A corridor for a trail <br />connection between the Lurton property and County Road 6 should be preserved across the <br />eastern portion of this property. They also discussed the possibility of a pedestrian overpass <br />from Stubbs Bay Road to the Lurton property. This would provide a link for a possible trail <br />linking the Luce Line to Baker Park through the Luton property and the Highway <br />12 /County Road 6 intersection property to be acquired by Mn/DOT for the new Highway <br />12 /County Road 6 interchange.
