The DNR updated National Wetlands Inventory (June, 2013) Map indicates a palustrine emergent
wetland with a temporarily flooded water regime(PEMA; Circular 39 Type 1; Seasonally Flooded
Basin) as being located where Wetland B was delineated. Results from the delineation would
classify Wetland B as being a palustrine emergent wetland with a saturated water regime (PEMB;
Circular 39 Type 2; Fresh Wet Meadow).
Wetland plant species documented at the wetland sample point for Wetland B include reed
canarygrass (Phalaris arundirracea). Upland plant species documented at the upland sample point
for Wetland B include: reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundirracea) and green ash (Fraxinus
pennsylvanica).
From the digital U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Survey for Hennepin County, the soils
mapped within the area of Wetland B are described as Hamel-Glencoe, depressional complex, 0-
3% slopes and Glencoe loam, depressional, 0-1% slopes which are both hydric soils. Soils data
collected at the wetland sample plot for Wetland B consisted of l 0YR 2/l silty clay loam from 0-
