MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,May 20,2002 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#02-2780 OTTEN BROTHERS NURSERY,Continued) <br /> Mr. Otten stated that the nursery will be striping the lot this week. He added that he would like to use the <br /> back access road to put in additional parking and enhance the berming between he and the residents on <br /> Dickey Lake Drive. <br /> Hawn pointed out that while the traffic pattern is a concern,now is not the time to address it, and Otten <br /> does currently meet code requirements regarding parking. <br /> Hawn moved, Smith seconded,to grant approval of Application#02-2780,Otten Brothers Nursery, <br /> 2350 West Wayzata Boulevard,the amendment to PUD#1 per the conditions on P.6 of the staff <br /> memo dated May 13,2002 and striking the strikeout of item#23 of the permitted uses allowing Mr. <br /> Otten to operate a food service business.VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> Mabusth stated that striking out#23 altogether is not necessary,what we are adding is an accessory use. <br /> Weinberger noted that the concessions are a separate use. <br /> Hawn withdrew her motion with everyone's consent. <br /> Smith withdrew her second. <br /> The Commissioners withdrew their vote. <br /> Hawn moved,Mabusth seconded,to grant approval of Application#02-2780, Otten Brothers <br /> Nursery,2350 West Wayzata Boulevard,granting the amendment to the PUD Agreement as stated <br /> per the conditions on P. 6 of the staff memo dated May 13,2002,with the amendment of the word <br /> `exclusively' to paragraph 1,immediately proceeding the word `to'. VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> Hawn stated that she will leave the restaurant retail use alone,these are permitted uses. <br /> Smith questioned whether there were any they would like to take off the list of allowances. <br /> Kluth was uncomfortable with the idea of taking the bans off of all the uses. <br /> Kluth moved,Mabusth seconded,to deny the request to allow restaurants,in general,to be added <br /> to the permitted use list.VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> Kluth moved,Mabusth seconded,to deny the request to include all B-1 uses to the permitted uses of <br /> the PUD Agreement. VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> PAGE 26 <br />
