ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY 23, 2000 <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> (#8) REPORT OF PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING COUNCIL <br /> MEETINGS ON JANUARY 24, 2000 AND FEBRUARY 24, 2000 <br /> Hawn indicated the Hoyt application was discussed at the City Council meeting and appears to be <br /> heading back to the Planning Commission for review. Hawn stated the Applicant failed to apply for <br /> certain variances and a public hearing will need to be held on the request for the variances at the <br /> Planning Commission level. <br /> Gaffron noted the City Council tabled the application. <br /> Peterson stated she has the understanding he will be filing an application for the variances. <br /> Hawn stated the Department of Transportation is presently seeking other sites for the sand/salt <br /> storage facility. <br /> Weinberger stated they are looking at the new maintenance facility in Medina. <br /> (#9) OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br /> Gaffron indicated Rick Luzaich has recently signed his response to interrogatories, with the Judge <br /> requesting the matter be resolved by June. <br /> (#10) PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 22, 1999 AND <br /> • JANUARY 19, 2000 <br /> Nygard moved, Smith seconded,to approve the Minutes of the Planning Commission <br /> meeting of January 19, 2000, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> Smith moved, no second, to approve the Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting <br /> of November 22, 1999, as submitted.
