MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />HELD AUGUST 15, 1994 • <br />ZONING FILE #1956 - CONT. <br />Tom Smieja stated it is their intention to tear down the old garage next to the rear lot line. <br />Chair Schroeder said his concern is with the 25'. After some discussion, it was moved by <br />Lindquist, seconded by Smith to recommend approval of Application #1956 for Tom and Chris <br />Smieja, 4040 Watertown Road, for variances as proposed including both the 25' and 45' <br />setbacks with conditions that the septic areas be fenced off prior to construction, removal of the <br />garage and noted the sighting problem at intersection of Watertown Road. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />( #14) REPORT BY PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDING <br />COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 8, 1994 <br />Lindquist attended the Council meeting and reported that Council gave Stoddard approval to <br />connect to the existing sewer unit instead of a separate connection. He noted that the application <br />for Sailor's World was continued as applicant was not present. <br />( #15) OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br />Chair Schroeder noted the B -2 issue is still being reviewed by the City Attorney. Gaffron stated <br />a date needs to be set for a meeting. Comments have been received from the attorney but he <br />did not give specific direction. Chair Schroeder commented that the B -2 Code was revised to <br />provide for extra conditional uses. Councilmember Jabbour spoke on B -2 code issues regarding <br />marinas. After discussion, it was decided to set a date for the Planning Commission to meet so <br />the B -2 matter could be moved on to Council. <br />ADDITIONAL ITEMS <br />( #16) APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE JULY 18, 1994 MEETING <br />It was moved by Schroeder, seconded by Lindquist to approve the July 18, 1994 Planning <br />Commission Minutes as submitted. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />( #17) REPRESENTATIVE TO THE COUNCIL MEETING <br />Chair Schroeder volunteered to attend the September 12, 1994 Council meeting. <br />Lindquist gave notification that he is unable to attend the September 19, 1994 Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />14 <br />
