RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCI L � <br /> _ � <br /> �t *. - NO. 2162 <br /> • - • • <br /> :., <br /> B) The proposed temporary use of the island will not have an <br /> adverse effect upon the lake, upon the land nor upon neighboring <br /> properties. <br /> C) Adequate fire protection shall be provided for overnight <br /> campers and during open burn activities. <br />. 4. The City Council has considered this application including the <br /> findings and recommendations of the Planning Commission, reports by <br /> staff and comments of the applicant and the effect of the proposed use <br /> on the hea lth, saf ety and we 1 f are of the community. <br /> 5. The City Counci 1 f inds that granting a Conditiona 1 Use Permit to <br /> allow the temporary overnight camping of workers involved in the <br /> cleanup of the property will not be detrimental to the health, safety <br /> or general welfare of the public, would not adversely affect light, <br /> air nor pose a fire hazard or other danger to neighboring properties, <br /> nor will it depreciate surrounding property values and that the <br /> proposed temporary use of the property will be in keeping with the <br /> • intent and objectives of the Zoning Code and Comprehensive Plan of the <br /> City. <br /> CONCLDSIONS, ORDER AND CONDITIONS <br /> Based upon one or more of the above findings, the Orono City <br /> Council hereby grants a Tempo-rary Conditional Use Permit per Municipal <br /> Zoning Code Section 10.31, Subdivision 3 (D) to permit �he overnight <br /> camping of work crews involved in the cleanup of the Big Island Veteran's <br /> Camp from April 15, 1987 through September30, 1987, subject to the <br /> following conditions: <br /> 1. Crews to be limited to 57 workers, non-family members and friends <br /> cannot be on camp site for the duration of temporary permit. If <br /> minors participate in the work program, constant supervision must be <br /> maintained by authorized representatives of the Board of Governors. <br /> 2. Workers shall use portable gas stoves and charcoal grills for <br /> cooking. <br /> 3. . Tenting is allowed only for weekend work crews. The authorized <br /> caretaker shall be the only person to remain on site for the duration <br /> of the temporary permit. <br /> 4. The facility shall be inspected by the Orono staff on a regular <br /> • monthly basis during the cleanup program. <br /> 5. Hazardous . buildings not scheduled for removal are to remain <br /> boarded up. <br /> 6. An "A" Type Water Extinguisher shall be required and the fire <br /> inspector upon an inspection of the facility shall determine the <br /> exact number of extinguishers required based on area of camp site. <br />
