1
_a'
TO: Chair Smith and Orono Planning Commission Members
Ron Moorse, City Administrator
FROM: Paul Weinberger, Assistant Zoning Administrator
DATE: February 9, 1999
SUBJECT: #2398 Wayzata Country Club
Conditional Use Permit and Variance-- Public Hearing
Zoning District: RR-1B One Family Rural Residential District(2 Acre)
Summary of Request: Last year the Wayzata Country applied to the City for a Conditional
Use Permit for upgrading the course to include:
1. Reconstruction, relocation or addition of tees for each of holes #1-18.
2. Reconstruction, relocation and or addition of bunkers along fairways and around
most of the greens. The bunker reconstruction also involved installing drain tile
outletting to existing ponds.
3. Expansion of 3 pond areas on the property.
The City approved a conditional use permit (Resolution #4146) to complete the work on the tee
boxes and bunkers throughout the Country Club. However, the conditional use permit did not
approve the plans for the ponds. The resolution states the applicant must return with detailed plans
for pond construction. Prior to issuing the land alteration permit staff is requesting the following to
be filed with the City of Orono:
1. Grading Plan showing a 10:1 aquatic bench at the normal water level. (Engineer
Comments)
2. MCWD Approval
3. DNR Approval
4. Corps of Engineers permit
The applicant has stated he has received approval from the appropriate agencies. A copy of the
permits shall be provided to the City prior to a land alteration permit being issued.
#2398 4t'ayzaa Coirntry Cli6
200 6Vayzata Blvd.
Conditional Use Permil and 6'ariance
2/16/99
Page 1
