Christine Mattson
From: Adam Edwards
Sent: Tuesday, May 12, 2015 1:40 PM
To: Christine Mattson
Cc: Melanie Curtis; Lyle Oman; Jeremy Barnhart
Subject: RE: 3928 Cherry Avenue/#2015-00507
Chris,
I've reviewed the subject site plan and offer the following comments:
1. The site plan depicts a retaining wall on the north east side of the home. As depicted the walls are exactly 4
feet and exactly 8 feet apart. While these does meet the cities retaining wall standard, the slightest deviation
from the plan may result in the requirement of an engineered design. Walls 4'or greater in hemght must be
designed by a licensed professional, and plans must be submitted to the City for review prior to the approval of
the permit. In the case of multiple walls, walls iess than 2X the height of the upper wall apart shall be
considered one wall.
2. The retaining walls on the west side of the home next to the driveway are 5 feet tall and require engineered
designs.
3. Grading is shown outside of the erosion control measures and on the neighboring property. Perrnission rnust be
received from the neighboring property owner and the erosion control measures adjusted to cover all of the
disturbed area.
4. Drainage swale shown on the north east side of the house must be constructed in such a way as to keep the
surface and roof runoff on the property and no deposit it on the property to the north. It is not clear how the
water will move between the end of the retaining wall and the property line.
Adam
From: Christine Mattson
Sent: Tuesday, May 12, 2015 9:55 AM
To: Adam Edwards
Cc: Melanie Curtis
Subject: 3928 Cherry Avenue/ #2015-00507
Adam,
We have received a building permit for a new home and replacement of a boat house in-kind. I have noted several
issues with the survey. Please also perform a review before I send comments to the builder.
1. Legal description not correct
2. Survey not to scale
3. Average lakeshore setback not shown correct►y
4. Grading shown across property line—needs separate permit and property owner permission/approval
5. Retaining wall shown on neighboring property—needs separate permit and property owner
permission/approval
6. Is timer retaining wall shown existing or was it demolished with home?
7. Questionable silt fence location on west side if home
Please review and provide comments before Tuesday, May 19`h. Thank you.
1
