WHEREAS, Dale & Chris Palm (hereinafter "the applicants") are the <br /> owners of the property located at 1710 Shadywood Road within the City of <br /> Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as fol lows: <br /> That part of Lot 11 lying Southerly of the following described line: <br /> Beginning at the Southwest corner of the North 14 feet of said Lot; <br /> thence South 87 degrees 27 minutes East to the shore of Crystal Bay <br /> Lake Minnetonka; and that part of Lot 12, lying Northerly of a line . <br /> drawn parallel with and distant 71.2 feet Northerly, measured at right <br /> angles from the Southerly line of Lot 13, all in Shadywood, an <br /> • addition to the County of Hennepin in the Township of Orono. <br /> WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for a variance <br /> to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.55, Subdivision 8 and Section 10.22, <br /> Subdivisions 1 and 2 to permit the construction of an addition and attached <br /> garage which will constitute additional structure and excessive hardcover <br /> . in the 0-75 lakeshore setback zone where structures and hardcover are not <br /> normally allowed, and which will increase hardcover in the 75-250' <br /> . lakeshore setback zone to more than the 25� normally allowed. <br /> NOW, THER}3FOR$, BE IT R$SOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br /> Minnesota: <br /> FINDINGS <br /> 1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1006. <br /> 2. The property is located in the LR-1C Single Family Lakeshore <br /> Residential Zoning District. <br /> 3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on <br /> February 18, 1986, and recommended approval of the proposed variances <br /> based upon the following findings: � <br /> A) The property is 16,840 square feet in area or 0.39 <br /> • acres, has an average width of approximately 90 feet, and <br /> contains an existing house which extends approximately 20 <br /> feet into the 75' lakeshore setback zone, and contains on <br /> existing detached garage and concrete apron which encroach <br /> into the minimum required side and street setbacks. <br /> .
