Correct <br /> conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of the work. Do not proceed until <br /> unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. <br /> 6) Immediately prior to installation of the work of this Section, thoroughly clean substrate and remove <br /> oil, grease, paint, varnish, hardeners, and other items that would adversely affect the bond of the <br /> adhesive. <br /> 7) Make substrata level and free from irregularities. Assure one constant floor height after carpet is <br /> installed, filling low spots and grinding high spots as required. <br /> 8) General installation: Stretch carpet in manner recommended by manufacturer. Scribe the carpet <br /> accurately to vertical surfaces. Align the lines of carpet, as woven, using no fill strips less than 6 <br /> inches wide, laying all carpet in the same direction unless specifically directed otherwise by <br /> Architect.. <br /> 9) Seams: Locate seams to the maximum extent practicable out of the way of traffic. Fabricate seams <br /> by the compression method using a butt joint and properly bead and seal. Do not stretch seams. <br /> 10) In addition to the cleaning requirements stated elsewhere, thoroughly clean carpet and adjacent <br /> surfaces prior to final acceptance of the carpeted areas by the Owner. <br /> 129 N.
