Phase I Ena�ironmental Site Assessment September 2, 2009 <br /> 6.0 INTERVIEWS <br /> 6.1 Owner/Site Manager <br /> The owners of the Properry ��ere unable to be contacted for an interview; therefore, Carlson staff <br /> interviewed Ms. Susan Wilson a neighbor located adjacent to the Properry (to the north). She stated <br /> that she has lived at 325 Brown Road South for 10 years. Her properry is approximately 15 acres and <br /> borders the Properry. Ms. Wilson stated that she has never noticed any dumping activities since she <br /> has lived there. She did state that she was aw�are that dumping had occurred in the past but did not <br /> knov��what types of materials. <br /> Ms. Kacy Rasmussen w�as also interviewed regarding the Properry. Ms. Rasmussen has lived at 420 <br /> Brown Road South u�hich is located across the street to the east for approximately 16 years. She stated <br /> that she ��as a��are that there has been dumping on the Properry in the past; however, she had not <br /> ��imessed any dumping occurring. She also stated that she had at one time observed barbage on the <br /> Properry. She stated that a few years ago several dump trucks of fill dirt ��ere brought onto the <br /> Properry. She was not aware of where the fill was from or ��here it ��as placed and for ��hat reason. <br /> Ms. Rasmussen stated that there have been several times in the past that they have observed <br /> smoke/burning coining from the Properry and that tl�ey have had to call the fire departinent to report <br /> it suspecting that a building may be on fire. She stated that she had their w�ater supply �e�ell tested in <br /> the past and was not a��are of any ground water containination. <br /> 6.2 Local Government Officials <br /> Carlson contacted Fire Chief James Van Eyll of the Ciry of Orono, to inquire about his kno��ledge <br /> redarding USTs, ASTs, leaks, spills, or releases of hazardous materials at the Property. He stated that <br /> l�e has only been the Chief for a short period of time. How�ever, he stated that there are no files, no <br /> calls or reports regarding the Property. He ��as una��are of any UST, ASTs, leaks, spills or release of <br /> any hazardous inaterials at the Site or any of the surrounding properties. <br /> Carlson contacted Ms. Melanie Curtis with the Ciry of Orono for information pertaining to the <br /> Properry. Ms. Curtis provided inspection records for the Properry and stated that it has been used for <br /> a dump. She reported that the City does not have information regarding the material that ��as <br /> disposed on the Properry or ho�� large of an area u�as used for disposal. She also stated that the Ciry <br /> ��ill not issue an occupancy permit for the Properry until the septic system is upgraded and the dump <br /> has been investigated or cleaned up. <br /> 6.3 Additionallnformation <br /> Carlson discussed the Wayzata Settling Pond site listed by EDR ��ith Lupe Verduzco (File Manager <br /> with the MPCA). Ms. Verduzco stated that the Spill reported has no file at the MPCA and v��as <br /> reported with a quantiry of 0.
