MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, December 14, 2015 <br />6:30 o'clock p.m. <br />13. #15-3774 MICHAEL STEADMAN OB/O IRWIN ACOBS,1700 SHORELINE DRIVE — <br />PRELIMINARY PLAT APPROVAL — RESOLUTION NO. 6569 (continued) <br />Levang stated that is the code and that it applies to every other builder in the City. Levang stated she <br />would be happy to have the discussion on the work hours moved up on the Council's work session <br />agenda so they can talk about it. <br />Walsh stated Council Member Levang is picking out code to her satisfaction and when it supports her <br />position. <br />Cornick moved, Levang seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6569, a Resolution Granting <br />Preliminary Plat Approval for a Class III Subdivision of Property Located at 1700 Shoreline Drive, <br />subject to the conditions that have been discussed concerning the hours of construction during <br />school times, which will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during the <br />summertime the work hours will be per City Code, which is 7 a.m. through 8 p.m. Sunday through <br />Saturday; subject to the inclusion of the following language under Point 9 on Page 3: `Residents of <br />the Foxhill neighborhood have expressed concerns with safety, noise, and general neighborhood <br />disruption anticipated with regard to the construction of the public road improvements. The <br />Council finds that it is appropriate that special conditions be established for use of Heritage Lane <br />for the extension to minimize the disruption and enhance safety;" subject to Item (i) being amended <br />to read that if a majority of the homeowners submit a written request for speed bumps, the City <br />will install them but they are to only be in effect during construction of the road and homes and not <br />permanently; and subject to the language on the signs reading construction traffic rather than <br />contractors. <br />Printup requested that Sunday not be a work day. <br />Levang stated construction on Sunday is allowed in the City Code and that other builders are allowed to <br />do that. <br />Printup stated the Council can deviate from that if it is requested. <br />Walsh indicated he would be in favor of restricting construction on Sundays. <br />Cornick asked how likely they will be working on Sundays. <br />Printup stated probably not likely. <br />VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 2, Printup and Walsh opposed. <br />(Recess taken from 9:58 p.m. to 10:05 p.m.) <br />Page 31 of 44 <br />
