� °� � <br /> � o 0 <br /> �b_ - CITY of ORONO <br /> � � � <br /> ti <br /> � �� G'�' RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> - �`�kEsxog'� No. � '� 91 ,. <br /> WHEREAS, on November 14, 1995, the City Council reviewed the draft <br /> amendment and directed staff to submit the amendment to Metropolitan Council with an additional <br /> request for 50 undefined sewer units for potential properties adjacent to or near the MUSA <br /> boundary, in order to expedite potential future individual requests for sewer connections; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to legal notice, the Orono Planning Commission held a <br /> public hearing' on January 16, 1996 to receive public comments regarding the proposed <br /> amendment, at which time all public comments were heard; and <br /> ' WHEREAS, the Orono Planning Commission on January 16, 1996 recommended <br /> approval of the proposed amendment on a vote of 4 to 0; and , <br /> WHEREAS, on January 19, 1996 Comprehensive Plan Amendment #6 was <br /> submitted to the Metropolitan Council for approval and written notice was sent to surrounding <br /> • local units of government and other affected jurisdictions requesting written comment; and <br /> WHEREAS, on October 24, 1996 at a regularly scheduled meeting, the <br /> Metropolitan Council approved Comprehensive Plan Amendment #6 as submitted, subject to the <br /> following recommendations and conditions: <br /> A. The proposed plan may be put into effect and no plan modification is required. <br /> B. The City may extend the MUSA to incorporate the proposed 399 acres of developed � <br /> area within the City, and the City may utilize a pool of 50 RECs (Residential <br /> Equivalent Connections) to accommodate future connection of existing residences <br /> adjacent to existing sewer lines in accordance with the administrative review agreed <br /> to by the City. <br /> C. It is recommended that Orono update its Comprehensive Plan to designate future <br /> staged expansions of the urban service area. � <br /> D. Metropolitan Council will not consider any future plan amendment from the City <br /> complete for review unless the amendment includes a transportation element that <br /> meets requirements of the Council Transportation Development Guide/Policy Plan. <br /> • . .. <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br />
