(UEl) has been retained to provide a structural engineering review of the <br />existing foundation to support the proposed construction located at 819 Brown I St. N, Leng Lake, <br />MN, as directed by Scott Sennes, of Sannes Design Build, Inc. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The home is a single-story residence built in the 1960's. The contractor propose,s to remove all the <br />above grade wood framtng and build a new two-story home on the existing foundation walls. <br />The Contractor wishes to have an independent structural engineering review of the existing <br />foundation to support the proposed construction. <br />OBSERVATION$ AND COMMENTS <br />1. The following information was obtained through a site Inspection on January 22, 2004 by <br />Jason Hanlon, of UEI: <br />a. The foundation wall is 24-f eet wide. <br />b. The foundation wall at the full basement is 7-feet 2 .. inches tall from top of slab to top <br />of wall. <br />c. The foundation wall is constructed of 12-inch concrete masonry units. <br />d. The strip footing is assumed to be a minimum of 20-inches wide and 10-[nches thick. <br />e. The soil type at the site is sand. <br />EQUAL Op PORTUNITY EMPL.OYER <br />,---
