9-12-86 (REVISOR J PER/JP 87-0064 <br />1 transmit their studies to the water pollution control commission <br />2 and other interested authorities; and to develop a comprehensive <br />3 program to eliminate pollution; <br />4 (k) To receive financial assistance from and join in <br />5 projects or enter into contracts with federal and state agencies <br />6 for the study and treatment of pollution problems and <br />7 demonstration programs related to them; <br />8 (1) To petition a board of managers of any watershed <br />9 district In which the lake conservation district may be situated <br />10 for improvements under Minnesota Statutes, Sete " on 112.48; no <br />11 bond shall be required of the lake conserv. ,istrict_ <br />12 (m) To contract for the removal of substandard or <br />13 dilapidated docks, boats, or other structures or fallen trees <br />14 within the lake or within 300 feet thereof after notice and <br />15 opportunity for hearing to the owner of the property on which <br />16 the condition exists, and to certify the costs of removal to the <br />17 county auditor for extension on the tax rolls againet the <br />18 appropriate lot or property, collection, and payment to the <br />19 district as other taxes are collected and paid; <br />20 (n) To require advance notice of commencement and progress <br />21 reports and data from state agencies, departments, and political <br />22 subdivisions conducting re:-earch projects upon the lake in order <br />23 to monitor and review the projects; and <br />24 (o) To acquire by purchase or lease, develop and operate <br />25 launching facilities and public access sites on the lake. <br />26 Sec. 3, Laws 1967, chapter 906, section 5, as amended by <br />27 Laws 1969, chapter 272, section 4, is amended to read: <br />28 Sec. 5. The board of directors of the district shall, on <br />29 or before July 1 each year, prepare a detailed budget of its <br />30 needs for the next calendar year and certify the budget on tha_ <br />31 date to the governing body of each municipality in the district <br />32 together with a statement of the proportion of the budget to be <br />33 provided by each municipality. The governing body of each <br />34 municipality in the district shall review the budget, and the <br />35 directors, upon notice form any municipality shall hear <br />36 objections to the budget and may, after the hearing, modify or <br />3 <br />
