MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 16 <br />review the Streater Cove Rules, and shall recommend <br />changes to the Executive Committee. <br />6.14,2 The HOUSING COMMITTEE, composed of active <br />members in number to suit the local conditions, shall be <br />appointed by the Commander. This Committee assists the <br />Commander in obtaining rooms and facilities for meetings, <br />educational programs, and other squadron activities. <br />6.14.3 The PERSONNEL COMMITTEE, composed of active <br />members in number to suit the local conditions, shall be <br />appointed by the Commander. This Committee· maintains an <br />inventory of the skills of each member so that these <br />skills may be called on for staff positions, <br />chairpersons, committee members, etc. <br />6.14.4 The INSURANCE COMMITTEE, composed of active <br />members appointed by the Commander, shall investigate <br />proper insurance coverage, and submit recommendations to <br />the Executive Committee two months prior to the <br />expiration date of the current policies. <br />Section 6.15 Certain Standing Committees shall report to <br />the Commander or their respective department heads as required or <br />directed. <br />6.15.1 The MERIT MARK COMMITTEE shall be composed of <br />active members sufficient in number to fulfill the <br />responsibilities of the Committee, appointed annually by <br />the Commander. It shall compile and correlate data to <br />assist the Commander in Merit Mark recommendations. <br />6.15.2 The LOCAL BOARDS of the Educational <br />Department shall be appointed by the Commander after <br />consultation with the Educational Officer. They shall <br />perform such duties as are outlined by the policy and <br />authority of USPS and as may be directed by the <br />Educational Officer and shall make such reports as may be <br />requested by the Commander or by the Educational Officer. <br />6.15.3 Other COMMITTEES, not listed but shown under <br />the cognizance of the officers of the Squadron, shall <br />perform such duties as are usual for their particular <br />-16- <br />MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 17 <br />operation and as may be directed by their department head <br />and shall make such reports as are required by their <br />operations. <br />ARTICLE VII <br />DUES AND ENTRANCE FEES <br />Section 7.01 The annual dues of active, family, <br />apprentice, and associate members shall be fixed by the Executive <br />Committee for the ensuing year not later than 15 August of each <br />year and shall be payable on or before 15 December. In the <br />absence of such action, dues shall continue at the existing <br />rates. <br />Section 7.02 An entrance fee in an amount designated by <br />the Executive Committee shall be required as a prerequisite to <br />membership. <br />Section 7.03 The entrance fee and annual dues of each <br />invitee to membership shall be paid at the time of accepting the <br />invitation. <br />Section 7.04 Dues for new members elected from 1 January <br />through 30 June shall be for the full year. The dues of those <br />elected after this date up to and including 31 December shall be <br />erorated on a monthly basis. The amount shall be one-twelfth <br />{1/12) of the annual dues multiplied by the number of months or <br />parts thereof remaining in the year. <br />Section 7.05 Any member whose dues for the ensuing year <br />have not been paid by 15 December of the current year, unless <br />otherwise provided in the Bylaws of USPS, shall be so notified by <br />the Treasurer and informed that: <br />"Membership of any member whose annual dues are in <br />arrears on 31 December shall, on that day, be <br />automatically terminated as of the last day of the year <br />for which the annual dues are paid." <br />Section 7.06 A life member shall be exempt from the <br />obligation to pay dues or fees to the Squadron. <br />Section 7.07 Payment of squadron dues may be waived for <br />cause by the Executive Committee, but nothing herein contained <br />shall authot'ize the waiver of dues to U~P~ or the.6ist;ict <br />assesroent. <br />-17-
