MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 8 <br />elected by the Active Members of the Squadron at the Annual <br />Meeting each year. <br />Section 5.04 There shall be a NOMINATING COMMITTEE, <br />consisting of a Chairman and five (5) other members, two of whom <br />shall be elected by the Active Members of the Squadron at the <br />Annual Meeting each year for a term of three (3) years. <br />Section 5.05 There shall be a RULES COMMITTEE, consisting <br />of a Chairman and five (5) other members, two of whom shall be <br />elected by the Membership of the Squadron at the Annual Meeting <br />each year for a term of three (3) years. <br />Section 5.06 There shall be an AUDITING COMMITTEE, <br />consisting of a Chairman and two (2) other members, one of whom <br />shall be elected at the Annual Meeting each year for a term of <br />three (3) years. <br />ELECTED ASSISTANTS <br />Section 5.07 The ASSISTANT EDUCATIONAL OFFICER shall <br />assist the Educational Officer in the discharge of his duties <br />and; in his absence or incapacity, act in his place and stead, <br />including voting at any meeting. <br />Section 5.08 The ASSISTANT SECRETARY shall assist the <br />Secretary in the discharge of his duties and; in his absence or <br />incapacity, act in his place and stead, including voting at any <br />meeting. <br />Section 5.09 The ASSISTANT TREASURER shall assist the <br />Treasurer in the discharge of his duties and; in his absence or <br />incapacity, act in his place and stead, including voting at any <br />meeting. <br />ARTICLE VI <br />DUTIES AND POWERS OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES <br />Section 6.01 The COMMANDER shall <br />6.01.1 Preside at all meetings of the Squadron and <br />Itsrxecutive Committee. <br />-8- <br />MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 9 <br />6.01.2 Execute all written instruments in the name <br />orTiie Squadron when directed by the Executive Committee <br />or by the Membership. <br />6.01.3 Have command of the fleet when the vessels of <br />tli'eSquadron are formally assembled. <br />6.01.4 Appoint, with the concurrence of the <br />Executive Committee, appointive officers and the Chairmen <br />and members of the appointive committees. <br />6.01.5 -Determine the times and places for <br />instruction in the educational courses of USPS, after <br />consultation with the Educational Officer, and subject to <br />the approval of the Executive Committee. <br />6.01.6 Be an ex officio member of all committees and <br />tioa'ras of the Squadron except the Nominating, Rules, and <br />Auditing Committees. <br />6.01.7 Make recommendations for membership on USPS <br />committees and for National and District officers and <br />make reports to National and District officers as <br />required by the policy and authority of USPS and the <br />District. <br />6.01.8 Appoint, with the advice and approval of the <br />Executive Committee, Delegates to the Conferences of the <br />District and to the Annual and Special Meetings of USPS. <br />6.01.9 Turn over to his successor, at the expiration <br />oT1iTs term of office, a complete set of all records, <br />reports, communications, and documents pertaining to the <br />affairs of the Squadron. <br />Section 6.02 The Executive officer shall assist the <br />Commander in the discharge of his duties and, in the Commander's <br />temporary absence or incapacity, act in his place and stead. He <br />shall be responsible to the Membership, the Executive Committee <br />and the Commander for all committees under his supervision, <br />generally those assigned to the Executive Department by the <br />policy and authority of USPS. He shall be an ex officio member <br />of all such committees. At the expiration of his term of office, <br />he shall turn over to his successor a complete set of all <br />records, reports, communications, and documents pertaining to the <br />affairs of the Squadron. <br />-3-
