MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 4 <br />accordance with the policy and authority of USPS. <br />Section 3.07 Associate Members of the Squadron shall <br />consist of Active Members in good standing of other Squadrons of <br />USPS, or of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons, who shall <br />qualify for Associate Membership as hereinafter provided. <br />Associate Members shall have all of the powers and privileges of <br />Active Members except that they shall not hold office in the <br />Squadron, have representation by Delegates of the Squadron, be <br />entitled to represent the Squadron at any USPS or District· <br />meeting, or be entitled to vote at any meeting of the Squadron. <br />Section 3.08 Honorary Membership may be conferred, for not <br />more than one year at a time, by the Executive Committee in the <br />same manner as invitation to Active Membership, upon any person <br />not a member of USPS who has rendered conspicuous service in the <br />interest of the objects of the Squadron. Honorary Membership <br />shall not be subject to the payment of entrance fees and dues. <br />Honorary Members shall not have any of the rights and privileges <br />extended to Active Members, Family Members, or Associate Members, <br />except that they may wear the USPS membership lapel pin. <br />Section 3.09 No blanket invitation to membership may be <br />made by any person to any group of persons. Invitation to <br />membership may be extended only in writing to individuals who <br />must accept such invitation, in writing, within thirty (30) days <br />of the mailing of the invitation or forfeit the privilege. <br />Successive jnvitations to membership may be extended only upon <br />the recommendation of the Membership Committee and by the <br />affirmative vote of at least two-thirds (2/3) or the Executive <br />Committee members present and voting at a duly constituted <br />meeting of said Committee. <br />Section 3.10 The nomination of a candidate for Active, <br />Family, or Associate Membership in the Squadron must have been <br />endorsed by one (1) or more Active Members and must have the <br />approval of the Membership Committee before being presented to <br />the Executive Committee for final action. Election to any class <br />of membership in the Squadron shall require the affirmative vote <br />of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the Executive Committee members <br />present and voting at a duly constituted meeting of said <br />Committee. <br />Section 3.11 No member of the Executive Committee or of <br />the Membership Committee shall disclose his or any other member's <br />vote, or make any comment on or discuss outside the Committee <br />-4- <br />MINNETONKA POWER SQUADRON BYLAWS <br />Page 5 <br />meetings any invitation to membership. No person may disclose <br />the name of any person considered for membership to any person <br />not an Active Member of the Squadron. No person, Member or <br />otherwise, shall be entitled to receive information from any <br />member of the Executive Committee or of the Membership Committee <br />concerning the invitation or non-invitation of any person or <br />persons to membership in the Squadron and USPS, except that a <br />Member proposing a person for membership in USPS shall be <br />informed by the Membership Committee as to the status of his <br />proposal. <br />Section 3.12 The classification of Members and the <br />educational grade of Members attaining Advanced Grades shall be <br />in accordance wi'th the policy and authority of USPS. <br />ARTICLE IV <br />APPRENTICES <br />Section 4.01 In accordance with the policy and authority <br />of USPS, any person who had attained at least the age of twelve <br />(12) and who had not attained the age of nineteen (19), and who <br />does not otherwise qualify for any class of membership, may <br />become associated with the Squadron as a Squadron Apprentice, but <br />only upon the invitation of the Executive Committee after the <br />affirmative vote of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the Members <br />present and voting at a duly constituted meeting of said <br />Committee. <br />Section 4.02 A squadron Apprentice associated with the <br />Squadron shall have only such rights and privileges, shall be <br />subject to such limitations and conditions, and shall pay such <br />fees as are set forth by the policy and authority of USPS and of <br />the Squadron. <br />ARTICLE V <br />OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES <br />GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />Section 5.01 Elected officers, elected committee chairmen <br />and committeemen, and all appointees, shall be subject to the <br />following general provisions: <br />-5-
