When a building faces two (2) or more streets, the total allowed sign area <br />shall be based upon the gross silhouetted area of the two (2) smal:er building <br />sides facing streets. No building side may have signage in excess of the signage <br />allowed for the side of the building based upon the gross silhouette area of that <br />building side. <br />3. In the case of multiple occupancy buildings, each tenant may have one <br />business sign, but the total area shall not exceed that allowed under Option B <br />hereof. When there are two (2) tenants or more in a building, the building <br />owner shall prescribe a sign criteria distributing the proposed signs to the <br />tenants. In the case of a multiple occupancy building, which is a center for <br />industrial, commercial or retail purposes on properties over ten (10) acres, a <br />pylon sign larger than that provided for in this Title may be approved as a <br />conditional use permit. <br />4. Signs may be placed on the side of the building not facing the street up to <br />one sign per tenant, but the total sign area shall not exceed that allowed in <br />Option B hereof. <br />OPTION B, WALL ANL. PYLON <br />B-1 24 sq. ft. or 8% up to 150 sq. ft. <br />B-2 50 sq. ft. or 12% up to 150 sq. ft. <br />B-3 100 sq. ft. or 14% up to 200 sq. ft. <br />1-1 125 sq. ft. or 16% up to 250 sq. ft. <br />1-2 125 sq. ft. or 16% up to 250 sq. ft. <br />Pylon signs shall be allowed as per this Section. The total sign area of pylons <br />plus area of wall sign shall not exceed the allowances above, however, in no <br />case shall the total signage be less than the amount of pylon signage allowed <br />based on the street classification. <br />a. Allowable square footage of sign area irrespective of silhouette area. <br />b. Allowable wall sign area based or percentage of silhouette area of <br />building. <br />c. Sign areas exceeding maximum shown in column c hereof, but less <br />than area allowed in column b may be allowed by conditional use <br />permit. <br />(C) Changeble Copy Signs: In all B Districts and approved retail businesses in I <br />Districts, an optional, changeable copy sign may be allowed by conditional use <br />where, in the opinion of the City Council, the service provided is sufficiently <br />diverse or tenant exposure is such that reasonable on -site promotional efforts <br />result in a cluttered appearance created by temporary signage. Such signs may <br />be in addition to the wall and pylnn option, but may not exceed fifteen feet <br />05') in height above grade. Where existing designs permit, these signs will be <br />attached to the pylon sign beneath the business name; otherwise, setbacks <br />governing the District will prevail. Any approval of a conditional use permit will <br />be granted only upon the elimination of window signs and all temporary <br />nonconforming signage. <br />1282 <br />
