TO: Mayor and City Council COT 2j.,mot, n6- <br />FROM: Mark Bernhardson, City Admin, _:,-ator <br />DATE: October 17, 1986 <br />SUBJECT: Declaration of Joan Lattin Day - November 28, 1986 <br />ISSUE - Recognition of a long term valued employee in <br />anticipation of her retirement. <br />DISCUSSION - The City upon the retirement of Assistant Chief <br />Winton Burmaster established a means by which they could <br />recognize long term valued employees by declaring a day in their <br />honor throughout the City of Orono. <br />Joan Lattin is a person well deserving of this recognition as she <br />has been with the City for 19 of the r st 20 1/2 years. In that <br />time she served as Treasurer/Fina .e Director from May 1968 to <br />December 1972 and from September 1y74 to June 1976, and at one <br />time or other as Deputy Treasurer/Deputy City Clerk/Office <br />Coordinator/Assistant Finance Director from December 1966 to May <br />1968 and from June 1976 to the present. Joan has been a positive <br />inf luence in many respects to this organization and we are all <br />going to miss her when she retires on December )8, 1986. <br />Additionally Joan has indicated she may be willing to work on a <br />part time basis to assist the City if the need arises. The staff <br />once it has developed the pare^neters for which this will be dorc, <br />will present this to Council ror authorization. <br />The staff will be recognizing her with a going away get together <br />at a date yet to be determined. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by `, seconded by _ , that the Orono <br />City Council recognize the many years of faithful hard working <br />service on the part of Joan Lattin by passage of resolution # <br />declaring Novemb, r 28, 1986 as Joan Lattin Day throughout the <br />City of Orono.
