10686.3 <br />TO: Mark BernhardsGn, City Administrator <br />FROH: Tom Kuehn, Finance Director <br />DATE: October 7, 1986 <br />SUBJECT: Appoint Auditor for Fiscal Year 1986 <br />RNG <br />OCT i 3 i9$6 <br />We have requested cost estimates from the audit firm of Pannell <br />Kerr Forster for performing the 1986 fiscal year (FY) audits. <br />They have submitted a total estimate of $12,100, excluding direct <br />expenses. This compares with an actual cost for the 1985 FY <br />audits of $11,650 plus $280 for direct expenses. The 1986 FY <br />cost estimates are: <br />a. Annual audit of the City $10,400 <br />b. Single audit covering federal programs 700 <br />C. Minnesota legal compliance audit 1,000 <br />TOTAL $12,100 <br />We have budgeted $11,855 in 1987 fir the 1936 FY audits, wuich <br />does not include monies for the federal programs audit of $700. <br />If the federal programs audit is requireu under the federal <br />regulations we would request an appropriate allocation from the <br />contingency budget at the time. <br />Recommendation: It is recommended that Council approve the <br />appointment of the audit firm of Pannell Kerr Forster, C.P.A.'s <br />to perform the requires: audits of the 1986 fiscal year records. <br />TO: Mayor and City Council 11 <br />FROM: Mark Bernhardson, City Administrato <br />jrwarded recommending approval. <br />PROPOSLD MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , to appoint Pannell <br />Kerr Forster as the audit firm to perform the required audits'for <br />the 1986 fiscal year at an estimated cost of $12,100 plus direct <br />expenses.
