Gaffron
Title: Senior Planning Coordinator
Item Description: #2361 William & La Wayne Yaeger, 310 Big Island-
Lot Area Variance and Redesignation of Record Lot 15
Zoning District: RS Seasonal Recreational District
List of Exhibits
A -Resolution
B -Notice of Council Action 6-24-98
C -Staff Memo & Selected Exhibits of June 17, 1998
D -Letter from Fames & Bruntjen 6-22-98
Council Action of June 22
On June 22 Council voted 3-0 (Peterson absent, Jabbour removed himself due to a potential conflict
of interest) to conceptually approve the applicants' proposal and directed staff to draft a resolution
including appropriate findings and conditions. Applicants' proposal included the following:
1. Request for City designation of the combination of Lots 64 and 65 as an independent Record
Lot in the RS District. Bruntjen/Fames' Lots 8-9-10-11 to be combined with an existing
adjacent Record Lot (Record Lot 16 or another Record Lot to be named later ... ) to result in
no net increase in the number of Record Lots on the Island.
2. Request for lot area variance for Lots 64-65, which will total approximately 0.5 acre when
combined.
3. Applicants to relocate illegally constructed cabin to a conforming location in Lots 64-65
within 6 months and provide it with a conforming foundation. As a result, there will be no
need for after-the-fact hardcover or setback variances. Applicants to obtain the appropriate
building permits for the cabin and gazebo.
4. No plumbing allowed in cabin until a conforming septic system is provided.
