Hiring has been delayed awaiting the completion of the <br />Police Officer Supervisory appointments. In July the sta°f had <br />previously requested permission to appoint two officers, one of <br />whom was placed on board in August. It was decided that the <br />other person discussed to fill this particular slot at that time <br />not be considered following additional testing. <br />It is staff's recommendation <br />that contingent upon successful <br />passing <br />of the physiological, <br />medical and stress <br />tests scheduled <br />for the <br />week of September 22 <br />that Trudy Kunkel <br />be offered the <br />position <br />as police officer. Final approval will <br />be submitted to <br />you at <br />the October 1 ,, 1986 <br />meeting together <br />witL. possible <br />swearing <br />in at that time. <br />Trudy is a Bachelor of Arts graduate from Mankato State with a <br />major in criminal justice and sociology. She is currently <br />employed with the police force of Eagle Lake, Minnesota, a 1,400 <br />population community just outside Mankato. She has been employed <br />with them for the past three to four months. She presents <br />herself in a positive professional manner and staff feels is able <br />to deal with the public effectively n a professional manner. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by _, seconded by _, to give the <br />Administrator authority to hire Trudy Kunkel, provided she passes <br />at a satisfactory level the appropriate physiological, medical <br />and stress tests for hiring effective October 15, 1986.
