Chief will be studying those and setting up an oral interview during the week of August 18, 1986 to make a final recommendation for appointment to the Assistant Chief position(s). DEERING ISLAND - The City is continuing discussions with its Attorney related to the possible civil matter related to Deering Island and its ude. BIG ISLAND BOARD OF GOVERNORS - As noted in the attached letters the Board of Governors feels that they have not received appropriate treatment by City staff, however as also noted this has not been brought to the attention of either the Department Head or myself. Traditionally the staff would have scheduled them for the August 11, 1986 meeting however given the anticipated size of the agenda together with the fact that the City Administrator will be on vacation it was felt appropriate to move that to the August 25th meeting. This later date additionally allows the Board of Governors an opportunity to develop a list of specifics regarding their concerns as it related to staff relations. GOAL SETTING - Attached please find City Administrator's Goal §-eEt-TWgF status through July 31, 1986. TONKA TRANSMISSION - During a conversation subsequent to the last uncrl mew Coit was indicated to staff that Tonka Transmission will not at this time seek additional parking as a revised conditional use permit as he has been able to ameliorate his parking problems and bill payment problems by towing to another area. The City will continue to monitor the situation and ensure that the approved 10 slots will continue to be adhered to. KEAVENY PROPERTIES - The City Assessors have reviewed the property and established a value if the property where the Chicken Joint was would actually be subdivided from the bulk of the Keaveny property. This has been a concern for Mr. Keaveny as he is afraid that the assessed value will increase and thereby his taxes will increase which he does not want to face unless the property is sold off. Mr. Keavney has until January 1987 to complete final subdivision on the property. Additionally staff is reviewing the existing building to see if hazardous building proceedings are appropriate on the property.
