8186.5 <br />City of ORONO <br />F <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />F.o;ileltil9.1 <br />APPOINTMENT OF EDWARD CALLAHAN TO THE <br />POSITION OF COUNCILMEMBER AS OF AUGUST 1, 1986 <br />WHEREAS, John Hammerel, Orono City Councilmember <br />appointed to the City Counc?t effective July 1, 1985 replacing <br />Lynn Adams who had resign( from the Council, has now himsel` <br />resigned, and <br />WHEREAS, John Hammerel's resignation was effective July <br />29, 1986, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Orono at its July <br />14, 1986 meeting moved to select Edward Callahan to fill the <br />unexpired term of John Hammerel, and <br />WHEREAS, Edward Callahan, who has for many years served <br />as a member of the City's Planning Commission and <br />WHEREAS, Edward Callahan is deemed to be qualified to <br />fill the vacancy. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, t'nat Edward Callahan is <br />appointed to fill the unexpired term of John Hammerel from 1 <br />August, 1986 until a new member is sworn in on the new City <br />Council in January 1987, and <br />THEREFORE, BE IT ADDITIONALLY RESOLVED, that Edward <br />Callahan must run for election at the November 4, 1986 election <br />and win in order to be a Councilmember beyond that date. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held August 11, 1986. <br />Mary C.
