Zoning File #1053
Addition to Memo of 7/17/86
August 7, 1986
Staff met with the applicant on site this week to discuss the reality
of the Planning Commission recommendation. The applicant has placed a
wooden stake located approximately 9.5 to 10 feet beyond edge of pool for
your inspection (refer to staff sketch addtional Exhibit M). The Deck E
proposed by Kosak would result in 365 square feet of hardcover. This will
allow Kosak to retain stairs in present location, retain deck over most
severe sloped section of rear yard adjacent to pool (look under deck) which
was the principal reason for expansion of deck/patio area. Applicant would
agree to remove wooden stairs within 75 feet setback areas (Area K)for a
reduction of 95 square feet of hardcover.
Comparison of Applicant's and Planning Commission's Proposal:
A) Planning Commission Proposal - Hardcover Facts 0-75'
Deck E = 120 s.f.
Retaining Walls = 45 s.f.
Lakeshore Stairs 95 s.f.
TOTAL HARDCOVER 260 s.f.
B) Kosak Request
Deck E = 365 s.f.
Retaining Walls = 45 s.f.
Less Lakeshore Stairs = - 95 s.f.
TOTAI. HARDCOVER 315 s.f.
Staff has drafted a resolution to be completed per Council's additions
or amendments.
