LMCCC MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 17► 1986 <br />page two <br />Administrator • continued <br />Administrator Hansen said she is on the board of directors <br />and membership committee (Minnesota Association of Cable Admini- <br />strators). She said they're planning a Fall Mini -conference <br />and a Annual Winter Conference. She spoke at the June 2nd <br />Council meeting in Spring Park, explaining government uses <br />of cable and acquainting them with the Lake Minnetonka program <br />which was taped June 16th and airs on Channel 20 every 3rd <br />Thursday ar 6:30 PM. <br />A NATnA Government Programing Contest is coming up and she <br />would like to enter a 10-15 minute segment. The entry fee <br />is 530 and it would cost $20-25 for 3/4" tape. <br />Orono Studio has 29 certified field, 29 editing_;, and 30 field, <br />and produced 5 programs in May; Excelsior Studio has 69 certified <br />field, 47 editing, and 31 studio, and produced 4 programs in May. <br />Holly said she would like to offer 3 one-time refresher courses <br />to certified users in field, editing, and studio/performance <br />at a cost of $10 for 3 hours. The $10 would cover expenses. <br />She will be going to the NFLCP Conference July 9th. <br />C. Dow -Sat <br />Mary Smith gave the Executive Committee copies of the Dow -Sat <br />Report and reviewed it with them. She said the net gain was <br />166 subscribers. She said every home is servicable, sometimes <br />it just takes special easements. She discussed non -pays and <br />how they are working on handling them. They are checking services <br />by checking the tag number at the tap or in the pedestal to <br />tell what services they have. Illegals are being sent letters <br />which are followed up within 10 days. People are being very <br />cooperative. There have not been any overall outages. Mary <br />would like to have an oscilloscope to aid her but so far has <br />gone without one. <br />She said HBO -MAX is the core of the packaging. Dow -Sat does <br />well with Disney. There are also summer promotions -coming up. <br />There has been an equipment problem which Mary and Holly have <br />been working on. JBC will be shipping a booster amplifier to <br />Holly and hope this will solve the problem. They are also <br />starting to work on daytime programing. <br />V. PERFORMANCE BOND REDUCTION REQUEST <br />Motion 6.17.86.4 DeMonchaux moved, Haggerty seconded, to accept <br />Dow-Sat's test results and agreed to reduce the bond from <br />$100,000 to $10,000 with the understanding that the Joint Powers <br />Committee be sole beneficiary. Motion carried unanimously. <br />VI. LMCCC FINANCIAL AUDIT <br />William F. Denny and Co. of Excelsior of fared to do the audit <br />free of charge. <br />
