Section 10.03 Subdivision 9(D) <br />No detached garage or other accessory building shall be located nearer <br />the front or street lot line than the principal building on that lot <br />except on lots wh• ^h have frontage on a lake and rear yard adjacent to <br />a street, accesso:, buildings located within the street or rear yards <br />of such lots are subject to the setback requirements of Section 10.23, <br />Subdivision 6B, Section 10.24, Subdivision 5B and Section 10.25, <br />Subdivision 6B except that detached garages may be located 10 _feet <br />from the street or rear lot line when doors face away from the street <br />and a turn -around is provided on site. This sect'_on shall not apply <br />To lakeshore lots divided by roadways or corner lots. <br />This section has been amended allowing detached garages 10 fe : <br />off street right-of-way as long as a turnaround is provided on <br />site - we've been attempting to do this for the past six years. <br />Staff has also made sure that lakeshore lots intersected by roads <br />and corner lots are excluded. <br />C. Section 10.03 Subdivision 18 <br />A. No new "stock farms" shall be created or existing stock farms <br />enlarged more than twenty five percent (25%) over the total number of <br />animals that existed on the farm as of January 1, 1975 with animals <br />over one year old except under the provisions of a conditional use <br />permit. In considering any such permit, the maximum number and type <br />of animals to be kept s}.all be determined by the Council. The site <br />design and method of operation shall be reviewed and the Council shall <br />find that the proposed or existing "stock fa .W' will not in its <br />opinion be detrimental to the public safety and the general welfare. <br />Crop farms and the keeping of animals for non-commercial purposes <br />are addressed under the respective conditional use permit or <br />assessory sections of the code. <br />The commercial keeping of animals such as that suggested by stock <br />farm use is only addressed in this section of the code. Other <br />levels of commercial uses associated with animals are addressed <br />in proposed amendments dealing with riding academies or stables <br />and barns - public. This section is not in conflict with the <br />rural zoning sections that allows the non-commercial keeping -f <br />animals as an approved accessory use. <br />B. The establishment of any new building for the housing of animals or <br />fowl shall be located 150 feet from the nearest lot line. <br />This section has been amended in order to assure 150 feet setback <br />ntaine i from lot line and not from the nearest off -site <br />nce an,_ also to be consistent wit;. ether sections of code <br />t _-equire 150 feet setback from lot lines <'-ir all animal <br />ba ,. . <br />
