MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD JUNE 1,, 1986 <br />ATTENDANCE 7:30 P.M. <br />The Orono Planning Commission met on the above date with <br />the following members present: Chairman Kelley, <br />Bellows, Rovegno, Goetten, McDonald, Callahan, and <br />Taylor. the following represented the City staff: <br />Building & Zoning Administrator Mabusth, Assistant <br />Zoning Administrator Gaffron, and City Recordier <br />Peterson. Councilmember Adams was also present. <br />#1036 NANCY <br />VACATION OF A 30 FOOT WIDE UNIMPROVED <br />PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY ADJACENT TO <br />WILDHURST TRAIL <br />PUBLIC HEARING 7:30 - 7:38 <br />The Affidavit of Put-lication and Certificate of Mailing <br />was noted. <br />Nancy Ferrell was present for this matter. <br />Assistant Zonini/Adm istrator Gaffron explained the <br />request to vacate ad,cent 1/2 of undeveloped public <br />roadway originally platted as "Grandview Place% He <br />explained the history of other portions which were <br />vacted prior to 1962. He noted that no one would be <br />denied access through this vacation. <br />Harriet Morgart, owner of property west and north of the <br />applicants, stated that she understood, based on <br />statements by previous property owners, that all these <br />roads had been r viously vacated years ago. She also <br />wondered exactl re this road was because it does not <br />appear on any s Ivey/map she has seen. <br />Assistant Zoning Administrator Gaffron stated that <br />applicant has submitted a survey dated 2/26/80 which <br />indicated the portion to be vacated although the <br />surveyors did not stake the area. <br />No one was present from the public regarding this matter <br />and the public hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by McDonald to <br />recomment approval of the proposed vacation request per <br />staff's recommendations.
