c. Parking and Access <br />A 12 car gravel parking lot is planned with additional <br />overflow parking on a grass tirface. <br />d. Obervation Focal Point <br />The northwest corner of the main barn should be utilized as <br />an area to observe wildlife and the lake beyond. Special <br />plantings should be planned near this area so as to attract <br />wildlife for viewing by Nature Area visitors. Much of the <br />remainder of the barn will be used as space to store <br />maintenance equipment and materials to carry out maintenance <br />functions. <br />2. Capital Funding for the Nature Area <br />Capital costs for this portion of the Park will be minimal. <br />Preliminary cost estimates are as follows: <br />o 12 car parking lot 5,000 <br />o Modifications to the barn 15,000 <br />o Trail deve pment 5,000 <br />o Landscare plantings 25,000 <br />TOTAL $50,000 <br />C. OPE:RATIONS PLAN <br />The Nature Area will be open the same hours as the Estate Garden. <br />Most nisifirs will use the arfi "on their own" without staff <br />assistance. Limited programming could include: guided wildflower <br />walks and early m;,rning b:rd-watching. Staffing will consist of <br />maintenance and ,.ecurt .y pers r•P .
